In Matthew 18:3 It says, "truly I tell you that unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Considering that  I'm 10 years old, that must make me an expert.... right???

While I was listening to the discussion tonight at Create Church, I heard about the "four D's" and the Missio Dei (Missio Dei means 'the mission of God'.) The mission started in John 3:16-17:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son and that whoever believes in him will not die but have eternal life, God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world but to save it through him."

And so we too are to go and reach out to others in need: but How?

Discover, Discern, Do, Debrief.  This is how you can tell if you and/or your church are following the Missio Dei.

  1. Discover: What and where is the need for help – spiritually and physically.
  2. Discern: What specifically needs to be done? Build a church, build schools or training people to get jobs, helping the disadvantaged... is this what I want to do? or, is it what God wants me to do?
  3. Do: Actually reach out and take action and not just talk about it.
  4. Debrief: Did the message of God spread through this mission or action?

Most everywhere you go people don't take you seriously if you are young. Maybe it's because they think you may not be capable to help. But, if you limit us, you are limiting our ability to do great things and you are restricting the love of God. God want you to be like a child because he wants you to have complete faith in him and not worry about bills and taxes, but focus on him and everything will work out.
